What does the SoFla Business Grants and Incentives Guide cover?
As of Tuesday, Oct. 6, the guide links 24 Sundaze Gazette guides to city, CRA and county programs for South Florida owners, including Oakland Park, Tamarac, Deerfield Beach, Coral Springs, Margate, Hallandale Beach, Delray Beach, West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Boynton Beach and Miami-Dade District 9. Each covers program basics, who qualifies and where to apply.
Which South Florida grant has an application window open now?
As of Tuesday, Oct. 6, Miami-Dade County lists District 9 as the only Mom and Pop district with a live window. Sealed applications for up to $5,000 per qualifying for-profit business are accepted by hand through Friday, Oct. 9, by 4 p.m. at the Richmond Heights Business Development Hub, 14508 Lincoln Blvd., Suite 210. Boynton Beach lists grant applications opening Oct. 15.
Which South Florida CRA grant programs are taking applications now?
As of Tuesday, Oct. 6, the Hallandale Beach CRA is taking FY2026-27 applications by appointment through June 30, 2027, based on funding availability, with façade grants up to $75,000 on Foster Road and NE 1st Avenue. The Lake Worth Beach CRA lists applications from Oct. 1, 2026 to May 28, 2027, with interior and façade grants up to $55,000 each at a 50% match.
How much can a South Florida façade or exterior grant pay?
Deerfield Beach CRA reimburses 50 percent of commercial façade upgrades up to $100,000 while the annual allocation lasts. Hallandale Beach CRA’s FY2026-27 façade grant pays up to $75,000 at 80/20 on Foster Road and NE 1st Avenue and up to $50,000 on its other Priority Area corridors. Coral Springs reimburses up to $50,000 for exterior work. Confirm your parcel before you spend.
Can I start work before a CRA or city grant is approved?
Usually not. Oakland Park’s guidelines make improvements or payroll incurred before board approval ineligible, and Coral Springs requires a Commission award before work. Hallandale Beach CRA’s October 2026 forms rule out work commenced, contracted, purchased or permitted before Board approval, and Tamarac’s tenant improvement buildout cannot start until the grant agreement is executed. Call the program office before you sign a contract.
Are there South Florida grants for training and film work too?
Yes. CareerSource Broward’s employer training map lists on-the-job training with 90 percent wage reimbursement, paid interns up to 480 hours and incumbent worker grants up to 90 percent, and advises calling before you make an offer. The Louies, Miami Film Festival’s documentary fund, will award $100,000 to six Miami-based filmmakers, with applications running Sept. 28 to Nov. 6.
