Terms of use for The Sundaze Gazette.

These Terms of Use cover your use of The Sundaze Gazette at sundazegazette.com, including our newsletter, free member accounts, and video and podcast pages (together, "the site"). The site is published by Brian D'Antoni ("Sundaze Gazette," "we," "us," or "our").

Accepting these terms

By visiting the site, subscribing to the newsletter, or creating a member account, you agree to these terms. You also agree to our Privacy Policy, which explains what information we collect and how we use it. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. You must be at least 13 years old to subscribe or create an account.

Our content and copyright

Our articles, photographs, video, podcast episodes, graphics, and site design belong to us or our licensors and are protected by U.S. copyright law. The Sundaze Gazette name and logo are ours. Please don't use them in a way that suggests we endorse you, your product, or your organization.

What you can do with our content

You're welcome to:

  • Read, print, or save stories for your own personal, non-commercial use.
  • Share links to our stories by email, text, or social media.
  • Quote short excerpts, as long as you credit The Sundaze Gazette and link to the original story.
  • Forward a newsletter issue to a friend or colleague.

You need our written permission to republish a full story or a substantial part of one, syndicate or translate our work, use it in a paid product, or use it for any other commercial purpose. Permission requests go to brian@rocksoup.tv.

No scraping or bulk republishing

Without our written permission, you may not use bots, scrapers, or other automated tools to copy or mine content from the site, or use our content to build databases or train machine-learning models. Don't frame the site, get around its technical controls, or interfere with how it works. Search engines may index the site as allowed by our robots.txt file.

Tips, submissions, and feedback

When you send us a tip, document, photo, event listing, correction request, business pitch, or other material (a "submission"), you confirm that you have the right to share it. You keep ownership of your submission. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, edit, reproduce, publish, and distribute it in connection with our reporting, in any format.

Sending a submission doesn't guarantee coverage, credit, or a reply, and coverage can't be bought outside of clearly labeled sponsored content. If you want to share information confidentially, say so before you send details, and we'll tell you whether we can agree to that. Please don't send material you don't have the right to share.

Member conduct

If you use any interactive feature we offer, such as comments, don't post anything unlawful, harassing, threatening, defamatory, hateful, or sexually explicit, and don't impersonate anyone, post others' private information, spam, or upload malware. We may remove content or suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Newsletter and member accounts

Membership and the newsletter are free. You sign in with a secure link sent to your email address, so keep that address current and your inbox secure. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link at the bottom of every newsletter. To delete your account, email privacy@sundazegazette.com. We may change, pause, or stop the newsletter or any member feature. If we ever offer paid options, we'll show the price and terms before you buy.

The site shows advertising, including ads served by Google AdSense, to help fund independent coverage. Ads are delivered by third parties, are not endorsements, and advertisers have no say in our reporting. Sponsored content is labeled as described in our Editorial Policy. We aren't responsible for the content, products, or privacy practices of other websites our stories or ads link to, and your dealings with them are between you and that party.

Information only, not professional advice

We cover grants, tax credits, incentive programs, real estate, funding, public policy, and technology. Our content is journalism and general information, not legal, financial, investment, tax, accounting, or real estate advice. Program rules, deadlines, and award amounts change, sometimes after we publish. Before you act, confirm details with the program's administrator and a qualified professional.

Disclaimers

We work hard to be accurate and we fix mistakes openly under our Corrections policy. Even so, the site is provided "as is" and "as available." To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Sundaze Gazette, Brian D'Antoni, and our contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data, arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content. Our total liability for any claim related to the site is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Where local law doesn't allow these limits, they apply only as far as it permits.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date above, and we'll note material changes at the top of this page. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute related to these terms or the site will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Palm Beach County, Florida, and you agree to the jurisdiction of those courts.
