Editorial Policy
Sundaze Gazette covers South Florida's business and creator economy with an emphasis on Broward and Palm Beach counties. These rules govern every piece we ship.
Verification rules
No unverified financial figures
Comp ranges, day rates, dollar specifics, transaction values, valuation numbers, and headcount counts ship only when one of the following is true:
- A named source — operator, hiring manager, founder, GM, public official — is on the record with the number.
- The figure is drawn from public data (BLS Occupational Employment & Wage Statistics, SEC filings, public CRA budgets, Florida Department of Economic Opportunity releases) and the citation appears inline.
- The number is replaced with a pattern-level statement (e.g., "crew costs have risen significantly in South Florida over the last several years") and the article is clear that a specific figure is being intentionally withheld pending sourcing.
Estimates without sourcing do not ship. Comp scuttlebutt does not ship. "I heard from a friend who heard" does not ship.
No anonymous-source-only reporting
A named editor on the record is required. Anonymous sources can inform reporting and corroborate; they cannot be the sole basis for a published claim. If a story turns entirely on anonymous accounts, the story holds until at least one source is willing to be quoted, paraphrased, or otherwise cited by name.
Press releases are not articles
A press release can inform a piece. It cannot be one. If the only source on a story is a vendor's own communications, we either treat it as a sponsored mention (clearly labeled) or we don't run it.
AI disclosure
Sundaze Gazette uses AI tools for research synthesis, copy editing, outlining, and image generation. The boundary is firm:
- Allowed: research summarization, fact-pattern outlining, editorial copy editing, image generation for feature art.
- Not allowed: generating reported quotes, fabricating sources, inventing numbers, paraphrasing claims a real source did not make, generating content that misleads readers about whether a person made a statement.
When AI is material to a piece — meaning AI work was foundational to the structure, summary, or generation of substantial portions — we disclose it in a clearly-labeled footer at the bottom of the article.
Studio-development node framing
South Florida currently has three active production nodes: FAT Village in Fort Lauderdale, Doral, and Sunrise. Until permit-volume and operator-buildout-pace data supports a hierarchy, we do not rank one above the others. We'll publish a hierarchy when we have stronger reporting on permit volume and operator buildout pace.
Sponsorship labeling
Sponsored content is labeled at the top of the piece in plain language. The URL slug for sponsored content includes a sponsored- prefix. Sponsors do not receive editorial control over Sundaze Gazette coverage outside of sponsored content; they cannot review or veto non-sponsored coverage that mentions them.
Sponsorship rate sheet: /sponsor-advertise/.
Corrections
Corrections are appended to the original article with a dated note. Corrections are not silently re-edited. If a published claim is materially wrong, we add a correction note at the top of the piece and amend the language; we do not delete or obscure the original error.
Send corrections to corrections@sundazegazette.com. Include the exact passage in question and your basis for the correction.
Conflicts of interest
If a reporter has a personal or financial relationship with a subject of coverage, the relationship is disclosed in the piece. If the relationship is material, the reporter does not write the story.

Sundaze Gazette uses a consistent tag schema so readers and aggregators can navigate the publication. Primary beat tags include studio-watch, florida-film, creator-economy, ai-tech, business, cra-government, incentives, events, production-studios, and real-estate-development. Geographic tags (broward, palm-beach, miami-dade) supplement.
