Tampa Bay Short Films — 40 minutes or less meeting at least one of: (1) director, writer, or lead producer currently resides in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando, Polk, Manatee, or Sarasota County; or (2) at least 50% of principal photography in one or more of those counties. Explain the Tampa Bay connection; residency or production proof may be requested. Earlybird Standard $30. This is the local short-lane opportunity for Bay-area shops.

• Tampa Bay premiere preferred (not always required unless a category says otherwise). Entrants must disclose all previous and scheduled Tampa Bay screenings at submission.
• Films publicly available via unrestricted streaming, commercial distribution, broadcast TV, or VOD are typically not selected (may be considered at GIFF’s discretion). Private, cast-and-crew, educational, and password-protected online screenings generally do not affect eligibility.
• Complete online screener required — no trailers as substitutes. Screener must stay accessible through the notification date.
• English subtitles for primarily non-English dialogue.
• Rights, music, likeness, location, and release clearances are the entrant’s responsibility.
• Material generative AI used to create or substantially alter writing, images/video/animation/VFX, music/voices/SFX, a person’s likeness/voice/performance, or documentary/historical/news/interview material must be disclosed (tools, elements affected, likeness alterations). Unauthorized digital replicas of real people are not permitted. Routine admin/corrective uses generally do not need detailed disclosure unless they create new expressive content. Incomplete AI disclosure can mean disqualification.
• Works in progress may be submitted if clearly identified and finished by GIFF’s final material deadline.
• Previously submitted films are not reconsidered unless substantially revised.
